Today's Treasure is one of those little touches that add detail, charm and personality to your table. For our team dinner at Le Potager I made these place card holders. Every part of the holders and the cards came from repurposed items.
Card holder began with a handful of unique used wine bottle corks, one per guest.
I used a razor blade to take a slice of cork off, creating a base allowing the cork to sit flat without rolling.
I then cut a simple slit approx. 1/3 of the way into the cork, at an angle, to allow the place card slide into.
Name tags were made of card stock recycled from outdated vendor catalogues. Eiffel Tower art work is photo copies from a photo of a large piece of original art painted by one of our team members.
Overall the look was charming and our guests enjoyed the fact that I tried to match the winery and or cork design itself, with the guest whose name it held. For example, this card for Maurice with the "Cakebread Cellars" cork refers to the his career as a master baker.
Everyone took their place card home as a reminder of the evening and as a small thank you for another great year at Le Potager.
